Another long trip, that is all he needed. All he was asking for was a normal place to stay at, and looked like it would not happen so soon. The so called "vacations" just turned into some kind of job where he was not being paid, as he had to assist on the problems of that city, but now it was better to just forget about it and moved on, and find one of the few people that he met on that weird place.
The scientist, Sarah, the only problem would be find her on the city, he barely knew about the previous city, now what are the chances of finding her on this new one? Let the dices rolls and with some luck he would be able to find her, or vice-versa. Shrugging to himself, he kept driving around with his huge and spiked truck, as always a unusual vehicle to be seen around, except for the truck drivers, even if it is spiked it was a truck yet, right? He began to slow down when he saw a gas station and stopped if he was really going to spend hours around of the city, it was better get more gas. Jumping out of the vehicle he began to look for someone to attend him to see how much money it would cost, getting a mint bar from his jacket to chew on it. "Hmm... at least this time it was easier to find a gas station..."

The wind stung Sarah's cheeks as she hunched over the gas pump, green eyes glittering dully as she stared blankly at the screen. She was cold. She wasn't used to this. The clouds had obscured the sky above, sending idle winds buffeting her form. Wings were wrapped around her like a coat, sending her shivering horribly. Sometimes, it didn't pay to be cold-blooded.
A sigh escaped her, green eyes looking back to stare at her car. Inside, everything she'd managed to get out of the facility in time. A few pictures, her research notes, and..
Her hand absent-mindedly pressed itself to her ID. Underneath, her hand felt burdened with the spindly outline of what she knew was a wire. Lips trembled slightly, the memories doing as well as neurotoxin to her.
Vividly did she remember her escape from the City. How she'd urged the others to leave. They'd been less lucky, making the journey on foot as she fled via car. The facility's ashes still flecked her vision, making her feel as if she'd done something very, very wrong. She was the reason this had happened. She'd helped. Sarah trembled, once again reduced to the scared and taciturn scientist of the Facility.
She just wished she had someone to patch her up this time.

Looked around like if it was his first time on that dimension again, another city, another life. This was probably something that he would need to get used to, being the person of many stories, many lives. His "thinking moment" stopped when he heard a noise, and began to look around, spotting that tall form on the other side. Was the her..? He gave some slow steps, moving closer to check and widened his eyes a little more. It was indeed her... so she was indeed safe, that was a relief. He carefully moved closer and placed his hands on her shoulders and finally broke the silence. " Are you alright?" The same question that he did on the first day that they met themselves.
He felt kind of relaxed now, glad that he found someone there that he knew, and it was exactly the person who was talking to him during those nights, he did not forget about one single thing, the wire was inside of his jacket yet, at least this time, he probably would need to worry about a swarm of zombies coming for him, at least right now.

A sudden presence and the weight on her shoulder's set Sarah's nerves on fire, wings raising defensively. No. Mind was making out every single little bad thing that could've occurred at that moment, and in one fluid motion, Sarah whipped around violently, staring her assailant coldly in the eyes. She couldn't have been more wrong.
Radryl. Radryl Allen stood before her and it made her breath fall short and her heart feel as it'd fallen to the soles of her feet.
"R-Radryl?" Voice came out disbelievingly, ears pressed against her head as tail dropped pathetically on the ground. Whether or not he'd made any indication of discomfort at her next gesture, the female would step forwards, arms wrapping around his midsection weakly as she buried her head in the shorter man's chest with some difficulty. An answer was not given.

Radryl stepped back at the reaction of the female, unsure about her situation and why she would do that, if he really scared her or anything like that. He stood quiet there, a little confused yet and at her question he raised an eyebrow and before he could even reply to that, he received that hug. He would wrap his own arms around of her back and just whispered. " Calm down, Sarah... I am here. Both of us are here now. " He gave a soft smile to her, even if she had her head buried on his chest and just rested his muzzle over her head.
That was the kind of moment that it was not really needed to say many things, the gestures were enough to understand. He kept in silence and held her close to him during the time that she needed, probably she did not have good days after all that problem that they had on the last city.... it is not like everyone had the opportunity of leaving that zombie hell.

Sarah was very, very happy. The somber look that had been about her a moment before had disappeared, tail waving like a banner as wings wrapped around the both of them. "I thought you were dead." She mumbled quietly into his chest, shivering slightly as her head shifted. He better have had enough sense to steer clear of her horn.
The kirin pulled back, wings still wrapped around their forms in joy. Though, now her expression had shifted to a confused one, nose scrunched in curiosity as she looked at the man. Eyes were ridden in befuddlement.
"How did you ever escape from the city? Is it okay?"
They'd told Sarah that the place wouldn't have been able to be rebuilt. It was simply too much. It hurt, didn't it? Leaving all that behind. She'd followed somberly in her car after the refuge group from the facility. She pitied them. Whatever belongings they'd had had perished in the fall of the facility, which lay a crumpled, burnt mess on Linden Lane's grounds. The walkers. They'd gotten too smart. And they'd perished for playing god.
Shades Run had been a far-cry from their idea of rebuilding. A small town in the middle of the mountains? Finding jobs and homes was going to take awhile, but for now, the refugees were more than eager to accept help from the locals.
It was only a matter of letting go of what once was.

Radryl smiled at her reaction and the fact that she looked happy now, raising an eyebrow at her comment and took one of his hands up to her cheek. Well, as you can see I am pretty alive. I am not thinking about dying so soon. He said playfully, keeping his head close for a while.
When she pulled back he fixed his jacket a little and gave a grin about her question. "I am a man with many tricks under the sleeves, I did not escape, that is why it took so much time to you see me. The city is partially alive.. they already began to rebuild that place after having the problems solved, I was with a group of people there helping them to keep everyone that were aliva safe and give time to the rest work on a soluction. But I am not really the knight in shining armor kind of person, so I left after that. I am looking for peace and besides that I wanted to find you." He placed his hands on hers and kept with that friendly smile on his face. " But for now just the survivors knows about what is going on there, so lets keep it quiet for now. Like a secret. We had to deal with some unnatural powers on that area and if we get curious eyes there we will not have any peace so soon."

A little laugh tittered out of her lips, and Sarah nodded, once somber expression dissipating as voice came out nervous and cloudy. "I'd never forgive you if you died." She joked, a little smile pulling at her features.
However, at her words, a surprised look was placed on her face. "Rebuilt?!"
The kirin gasped. How could she keep this a secret? Would they even want to get back to the city? No. They'd walked too far and they'd settled down already. A frown tugged at her lips. This.. She'd need to think about this.
"Radryl, I don't think we can go back.."

He laughed at her joke and shrugged to himself looking around. "Well then, I am glad I did not!" At the way she reacted and the way she made that question made him tilt his head a little, not understanding why she was so surprised about that.
He shrugged again at her comment and just gave her a smile. "Who told you that we would come back? Those who wanted to stay on that place stood there, those who left will keep around here, and like I told you before, I am looking for some peace and if you are here, I will also keep around here. New city, new life, right?" He said playfully while he looked around, exploring the new area for some seconds before looking back to her and resting his hands on her shoulders. "This is a new path that both of us will go on together."

His words didn't seem to click in her head for a moment, and Dil contemplated what he'd said. Maybe, maybe he was right. Maybe it was better they all stayed here.. There were too many memories in that city. People had died, lives and loves had been lost.
It felt like she'd left a piece of her behind with it.
As he observed the area, Sarah followed after him slowly, as if scared of losing the fox again. It was when he spoke of new paths and new lives that a small, indescribable smile colored her face.
"Perhaps."

Looked back to the Dil and just gave her a quiet smile, giving some steps torwards his own car, tapping its front with one of his gloved hands. "Well, perhaps is already a good start. That was the way we ended up getting closer, was not it?" He shoved his other hand into his jacket to reach the piece of wire that was inside of it and after getting it, he pulled his hand away from the jacket and opened it to show her the wire. "I believe we still need to have a second date, this time without worrying about zombies climbing up to reach us." He joked about the last weird situation that they were at.

Sarah smiled fondly, nodding her head. Perhaps. A simple word. Yet a word they had history with, right? A word of possibility. Of maybes and maybe nots. A simple, simple word that they had both given meaning to. Smile grew quietly, and she nodded.
Expression shifted when he pulled out the wire.
Wings shifted on her back as if they couldn't find a comfortable spot to nestle in. "You kept it.." The anthro murmured admirably. Tail swept over the ground happily, and with a renewed vigor, a hand dug into her ID to pull out the kinked, worn wire out to display to him.
At his words, she giggled slightly, and she was half happy that her scales didn't reveal what must've been a blush she was feeling. Nevertheless, she nodded, a small laugh escaping her.

Radryl just nodded back to her, with a smile on his face yet. That word that she used surely made many changes on his routine, from just defending a building against zombies, it went to talking to someone and actually having some peace for a while, not needing to worry about anything else.
At her comment he just gave a slow nod. "Of course I did. We made a promiss, and I am not the kind of person who breaks them." He watched her grabbing something and gave a grin when he saw the wire on her hand and joked. "And looks like I was not the only one who kept it." He looked up to her and placed his hands over hers. "Well, now we will just need to get used to this place. And I will make sure the next date have some tricks just like the last one." He turned his head to the side to stare at his vehicle for a moment before turning back to her again. "And I believe I should look for a new home as this noise truck do not like to have someone sleeping inside of it. It may sound a little weird to say that but you will know what I meant soon."
