They hated this. The air was too thin and the temperature was significantly a few degrees lower than that in the City. Little things set them off and they felt it in every single fiber of their being. All three of them seemed to be handling it badly.
Gordon, Vincent, and Wheatley all sat next to eachother, the taller of the three babbling on endlessly as Gordon leaned his head against the wall of the building. The three had escaped out onto the hotel's porch for some peace and quiet. Turquoise had had all of them driving up the wall. Wheatley had insisted, no, pleaded on staying in the same room as the female anthro. The AI had pledged that she was pleasant company. Their chattiness certainly attributed to why they'd gotten on so well.
Vincent didn't look so pleased, obviously bored out of his mind as he kicked his legs over the chair like a five year old. He hated this town. The cannibal had grown up in the City all his life. It was a literal haven for him. He wasn't too eager on leaving it. Though, he seemed to be taking it the best out of the group. He dared not think about the people he'd lost. It didn't really work.
If any passerbys had been paying attention, they would've noticed a small, bedraggled sitting in the corner. Katie Johnson. Who, in all respects, looked absolutely miserable.
Tired, red eyes stared up at the males, the turret-child twiddling her fingers to pass the time. The child never looked too happy these days, did she? Her dislike for a certain blonde AI had grown over the past few weeks. Her disappearance of her mother certainly had attributed to it. He was supposed to PROTECT her! And here they were, in some backwater town in the middle of Colorado.
This was horrible. Yes. It was horrible in every single damn way possible. There is nothing to do. This place smelled bad and most of all, The 5 wanderers had so much sorrow in their hearts that they were sure they would crack and shatter into zillions of pieces. This was indeed horrible.
The group of 5 wandered through the streets lazily. Destery stood at the front, Being the bander of the group. He walked with great confidence even though inside he was indeed breaking. Douglas-- I mean, Special man, was being a huge pimp... His sidekick, Miss Carried, was being carried bridal style and his sister, Caroline, was resting her face in his shoudler. Both ladies were exhausted. Gabe just hung back sadly. He missed his mother. He walked slowly. letting out a small whimper and a little sniffle as he left a trail of thick green snot behind.
Their hearts ached. They ached more then their eyes and feet combined. Douglas missed his friends, and hated to see his friends so down. Destery was scared. Very scared. He just wanted his dad. His mom was just being sleepy and irritated all the time now. She said it was because everything is hard.... But he didn't really understand. GLaDOS was the same way.
They seemed to move as if they were stuck in Jell-o. "A hotel is here soon." Douglas said. "Yeah, Yeah... Whatever." Mumbled his sidekick. as she shifted a little. She sure was heavy. But Douglas didn't dare say a word about it.
"Wheatley."
The name's owner perked up at being called. The youngest female stared back up at him. A small 'mhmm?' escaped his mouth, eyes meeting Katie's. Her voice came out plaintively.
"I'm bored."
The other AI didn't look phased before she spoke again. "Can I go with Vortigaunt?" Wheatley frowned, shaking his head. "No, Katie, Suzanne and Turquoise are out, 'ad to go shoppin'." The small child didn't look convinced, shaking her head vigorously.
"Fine! I'll go find her myself, then!"
Katie walked away from the man proudly, chest puffed out and nose in the air. Wheatley made no comment, ducking his head sheepishly as a snigger escaped the ginger-headed boy next to him. The girl walked confidently down the sidewalk, eyes closed and arms swinging out in big arcs as she walked with a haughty air about her. She ignored her guardian's cries for her to come back.
