Travis Skeltz had followed a couple of unsavory characters on one of his night time patrols who entered the laundry mat. They didn't have any baskets of dirty laundry with them so it was obvious they weren't here to wash their clothes. And there was a certain feeling he got from this group of four. Ultimately his senses were accurate. When he walked in it looked like they were forcefully trying to rip the coin compartments out of the machines with crowbars or whatever they had on hand and cursing at their own failure. However the young super hero was not going to let this go on. "Whats wrong guys? Did the machines eat your quarters?" He decided to try and mark his arrival with a pun kind of like Spiderman did. Immediately they all turned around to look at him. One wearing a beany spoke up. "Who the hell are you?" The young hero would answer simply. "Just a concerned citizen. How about you lay off the machines and walk out of here peacefully?" His calm and casual demeanor betrayed him. Travis Skeltz was in fact very nervious right now and a little scared. The one in the beany sneered at him. "Yeah sure, hey guys take care of this idiot." Immediatly three of them charged at him. Quickly he drew his stun batton and switched on laying into the first charging perp with a electrical shock from the end of the batton before smacking the second upside the head with it. The third came at him with a crowbar aiming to to swing it at the side of his head. Quickly he ducked and then pressed the end of his stun batton into the mans stomach and shocked him. The man fell but the previous thug he had hit in the head was up and he had picked up a crowbar of his own. With a powerful swing he nailed the hero in his side causing him to topple into one of the machines with a thud. He then began closing in on him while tapping the crowbar menacingly against his open palm.
:himself had a habit of patrolling this small town when the sun fell down, for he had grown so used to it that it hard to stop doing such a thing. The maned wolf observed the area thoroughly, ears perking and flattening against his skull. The 24 year old make wore a black sweat jacket, his hood up, and baggy pants. He was used to wearing such an attire due to what he looked like. His left eye was nothing but a ball of metal, accompanied with a red light in the center, representing a pupil. It'd contract and such like a regular eyeball. His left arm was mechanical as well, and thanks to his engineer brain, he was able to modify it, giving it the ability to switch to and fro, even if there was a bit kinks that needed to be worked out. He was mostly a dirty orange, the tips of his ears brushed lightly with black, same said for his arm and foot. His right foot was robotic as well, stopping right at the knee, and then gave way to his normal flesh and fur. His tail was brushed with black and white, which flickered behind him slowly. He adjusted his prescription glasses, eyes blinking when he swore he heard a light Thunk! from the building next to him. He growled slightly and darted in, eyes wide at what he saw before him. Before him was quite a sight, a crime scene, really. A teen was laying against the ground, with a hoodlum with a crowbar in his hand, advancing towards him in a hostile manner, and before Dominic had time to see the other three criminals, he instantly leaped for the one advancing towards the teen, his hood falling off his head due to the swift action. He swung out his robotic arm, blindsiding the male right in the jaw, a satisfying crunch! echoing through the male. He watched as the male collapsed, obviously dazed and injured, and turned to the fallen teen, an unmeaningful menacing look in his eyes as he stared down. "You alright, kid?" he questioned, his back towards the others.
Travis Skeltz despite homemade body armor he wore underneath his clothing that blow really did hurt since it was blunt force damage which sent shock damage through his side. It was the same problem midevil combatants had as well. He had to get up though, otherwise his assailent could easily finish him off. However rather than strain himself to move to the side or get up again he was saved in a flash by a hooded anthro canine who sent the man flying to the ground with a broken jaw. He looked up at the anthro canine with the strange eye and a robotic arm and leg. The eye in fact reminded him of the terminators from the film series. And he resisted the urge to make a terminator joke since danger was still about. That's when the leader as if on que pulled out a .38 snub nose revolver and fired two shots at the cyborg anthro canine aiming for his head.
The anthro arched a brow when the teen didn't answer, and readied himself to kneel down before him, concerned that he was hurt. That was, in till, the booming sound of a gun firing rang in his ears. Dominic gasped and ducked just a second too soon, his eyes wide, and for a moment, a flicker of fear in his eyes. Growling, he turned, and with a quick flick of his robotic wrist, his hand switched into a part of a shotgun. He grunted as he fired a single round towards the man's hand, a desperate attemot to knock the weapon from his hand. "No one move," he breathed, his eyes set on the hoodlums. "Or I'll aim for more than just your hand."
Travis Skeltz finally managed to answer back. "Yeah...it hurts like hell but Im fine.." Then the shots were fired. Fortunately the cyborg was able to dodge them with ease which surprised him. Those were some reflexes. But he would expect nothing less from someone with such inhancements. When he fired back at the hoodlum with a shotgun blast not only was the gun knocked out of his hand but nearly all of his fingers and much of his hand was torn apart by the shotgun blast. The man screamed as he fell down clutching his hand in pain. The remaining three that had recovered backed away slowly with their hands raised. That is until one of them decided to lower his hand and quickly draw a switchblade and charge at the cybornetic anthro canine aiming to stab him in the chest.
The male gave a curt nod when the teen stated he was fine, his eyes not leaving the others. He watched as the man fell over, screaming, grimacing slightly. He had no intentions of really killing them, but he knew for a fact that injury could end up very fatal. He watched as the others backed away, smiling a bit. But that soon went away though when the other came in a for a blow, Dominic's eyes wide once again. Dominic quickly sidestepped out of the way, and just as swiftly, grabbed the armed man's arm, twisting it behind his back and slamming him against the wall, hard. He grabbed the knife and slammed the blade right into the man's foot, ignoring his pained scream. He stood back up, and looked back at the males, a daring look in his eyes. "Who's next?"
Travis Skeltz watched as the others finally backed away after the last attacker got stabbed in his foot with his own switchblade. The gunman was trying to wrap a towel someone had forgotten around the bloody mess that used to be his hand while still screaming. Meanwhile the young super hero was slowly rising to his legs. Pain coursed through his side but he worked through it. Once he stood up he would extend his hand towards the stranger. "Thank you so much. I cant tell you how grateful I am for saving me like this." He had never seen anyone quite like this guy before. A true honest to goodness cyborg. There was no faking the implants that he had. Not when one of them had transformed into a shotgun before his very eyes. "Im going to call the cops and wait for them to show up before leaving.. What about you?"
:watched silently, lowering his gun as the others finally got the message. He looked up as the teen finally stood up, a hint of a rare smile on his face. Happily, he shook the other's hand in a stern grip, eyeing him slightly. "Are you alright? You looked like you took quite a blow." He listened silently, and decided he would stay as well. "I'm staying as well intill they come. Don't want them getting out of hand again." The anthro chuckled at his indirect pun, keeping a close eye on the perps. Don't need them doing anything dumb, he thought.
Travis Skeltz shook back firmly as well. A good first impression was in the handshake. "Yeah Im fine. It would'nt be the first time I took a crowbar to the ribs..or any blunt object for that matter." It hurt alright but he would live just like he had before in the same situation. "Well I'll be glad to have you here with me until the show up. It would be kind of hard to keep them locked down otherwise." Though he seemed to miss the pun in the conversation. "Whats your name by the way Mister?" He had seen anthro men, he had seen cyborgs on tv, but never had he seen anthro cyborg men in real life face to face like this.
He nodded, happy to hear he was alright. Dominic wasn't at all very socializing, but he had a feeling he was making a good first impression. He was in a good mood, shockingly, and didn't show his cold, more stone like demeanor. At his question, he hesitated, not at all used to giving introductions. "D..Dominic. Dominic Vanderson. And yours?" he questioned back, feeling slightly nervous for no apparent reason. Well, there WAS a reason. For not known to other, the young male could remember nothing from his past, only remembering waking up in a room that reeked of metal, blood, and medicine. He was always afraid the scientists from that hell hole was looking for him, and ever since then, hesitated when giving him name. He didn't want to go back, even if his real life was documented in files there. He didn't want to be put through the pain again of being ripped apart.
Travis Skeltz would then give him his name. Or rather his super hero identity. "Im Knock Down, its nice to meet you Dominic.." That was the super hero name he had chosen for himself. He had also noticed that the anthro seemed nervious when he gave him his name. He wondered what was wrong? He would reach into his utility pouch and pull out his cell phone. After punching in 911 he would alert the emergency operator of their situation and location. After he was done he would put it in the pouch once again. "They'll be here in about ten to fifteen minutes. So um..." He looked at the cyborgnetic arm. "Is...is it alright if I ask you how you got those?"
:arched a brow. "Knock Down?" he repeated, a cocky smile on his face. "Oh I get it, to represent falling all the time, right?" Dominic laughed for what felt like the first time, smiling. "Kidding, kidding." he chuckled, shaking his head. "It's great to meet you too, kid." he smiled, connecting the dots and assuming the kid was a wannabe hero. He watched as the other alerted the authorities, nodding. He was taken aback by the question though, his other hand brushing against the other arm, his ears pinned against his head, and his tail placed between his legs slightly. "I..." he looked away, and frowned, feeling a slight anger bubble in his chest. "I..I volunteered for a... Procedure one day and... Yeah, this happened." He was lying, but there was some truth laced in his words. Emphasis on the word some. He didn't volunteer at all, he was kidnapped, and his younger brother was too, the company that kidnapped him their rivaling company.
Travis Skeltz was glad he was wearing a mask right now since it hid the blush of embarassment he had. This was the first time anyone had laughed at his name. "Well actually that would be the case if my name was Fall Down. Knock Down represents how I knock criminals down during a fight you know?" Then the anthro canine began to tell him about how he got his cybornetic implants. He could see just how uncomfortable it made him and felt a little bad for asking. "So you got free cybernetic implants huh? Thats a awesome thing though right?"
:felt his happy atmosphere begin to wither away, and ducked his head, giving a slight nod. He didn't even crack a smile when the other stated what his name would actually be, for a sudden heaviness encased his body. He winced when the other stated his implants were "cool and awesome", as if he was willing for such a thing. Honestly, the man would do ANYTHING to get his past back, he didn't know who or where he was from, all he knew he had was a name and a brother. Deciding to switch the subject, he asked his own question, clearing his throat slightly. When he spoke, his voice sounded strangely more robotic than human, and Dominic winced. "What about you? Why did you decide to become a hero?" he wheezed out, cursing mentally that his voice box was a piece of crap and that he could do better. He WAS a "prototype" though, expected to die after the procedure was taken, a test. But no, he proved them wrong. He proved everyone wrong.
Travis Skeltz felt that it would be a good idea to just go along with the change in subject rather than persue this one. He felt bad enough already for bringing it up since it was still causing Dominic pain to talk about it. "Well....I guess I just wanted to go out and help people you know? Keep crime from taking the city, protect the innocent...and...yeah I always wanted to be a super hero as well." It was that last part more than anything else that defined why he wanted to be a super hero. He was a kid living out his childhood and teen fantasies of being a super hero similiar to the comic/movie Kick Ass. And naturally he had studied both and used them as sort of a what misstakes NOT to make guide for being a super hero.
:arched a curious brow. "Huh." he hummed, smiling a bit. "So, you're practically a little kid living the dream, hm?" he chuckled a bit, only to look a bit more serious. His gaze shifted to the hoodlums once again, frowning. "But do you know self defense?" Dominic questioned, a look of concern on his features. "You also need to react more faster, 'cause I hate to say it, but..." he took a deep breath, sighing. "If it wasn't for me just so happening to stroll by and hear the commotion going on here, you would've become grounded meat." Dominic silenced himself, for he would've gone on, but the last thing he needed was someone be offended towards his advice, for it could quickly switch to hostility.
Travis Skeltz knew that was the best way to sum him up. "Yeah that's really all there is. I'm just a kid trying to live the dream. But don't tell anyone that please? I don't know why I am even giving you this much info." It was a good thing the criminals were knocked out. Or at least he hoped they were otherwise he would feel really stupid right now. Then came the big question. "Yeah I know self-defense. I've learned a lot of martial arts forms in preparation for this." Well truth be told he only took Karate and Judo classes and learned what little he knew about Krav Maga and Savate from lots and lots of marathoning of Human Weapon but that was the extent of it. "It's still hard though. Numbers can be a pain to deal with but I've been doing just fine. But again thanks for helping me.."
:silently listened, nodding. He gave a genuine smile, chuckling. "Hey, no worries, your secret is safe with me, kiddo." He gave a glance at the criminals, frowning a bit, for he would've been lying if he said he didn't feel at least a little bit bad for severely injuring most of them. He looked up as the male said that he did in fact was familiar with material arts, and Dominic thought for a second, silence. "Well, at least you know some," he started, and an idea seeped into his skull, and he looked up, optical eye looking as if it was zooming in and out. "Hey, uh... If you ever need anymore help with anything, like, weapons, fighting, or even a place to relax and heal, come find me." He smiled a bit, slightly nervous. "I'm a whiz with technology, and I can probably help upgrade your gear and perhaps give you more equipment. And help with fighting, too. I'm somewhat good at that, but it's mostly my younger brother whose the complete whiz with that sorta things." He smiled as he finished his proposal.
Travis Skeltz was enticed by the offer. Weapons, fighting, a place to relax and even upgrades to his gear? All from a genuine cyborg. It was like his career took one big leap into the fantasy world of comics and then skipped a few pages ahead to what might as well be the begining of the height of his career. "Yeah! Of course! Id love to!" He would then begin to hear the sirens in the distance. He would glance to the door and then back to Dominic. "Why dont we go right now? I mean...if its cool with you? I dont want to impose on you right now..." He found himself in such a socialy akward moment right now. Then again it was not every day you meet a cyborg canine anthro who is offering things he had only dreamed of. "We can take my car, its right around the corner."
:grinned wide when the other seemed to burst with energy, and he couldn't help but laugh, feeling as if it has been years since he's ever done such a thing. He himself heard the sirens, his ears twitching. He blinked as he himself was request to do something himself, and he thought for a second, wrapping his arms across his chest. "Hm... I guess it'll be alright, it's just.." he took in a deep breath, not sure how to phrase this. "Me and my brother -who I live with- we... We have weird pets, two in total but... Still very very weird." He gave a reassuring smile, even if he himself was a bit nervous. Dominic wondered what he'd do if the male questioned what type of pets they had...
Travis Skeltz blinked in confusion at Dominic at first from beneath his sunglasses. "Well if that's all then Im good with it. If you got something like a tiger or a gator in your house I really dont mind. Come on let me show you to my car!" He would gester to Dominic to follow him and lead him out the front door. Even if the criminals recovered enough to get up and try to make a break for it the cops would be right there by the time they did since the squad cars were already pulling up by the time Travis had made it to the back of the building provided Dominic agreed to follow him. If he did he would be met with the sight of a old four door pontiac transam that was painted black. "Its no batmobile or sportscar but it gets me from point a to point b." He would quickly unlock it on the drivers side before hopping in and starting the car before unlocking the passengers seat. If Dominic looked closely at the front and rear he would see that there was no lisence plate.
:at his comment, a shaky, nervous smile pierced his features. "Well one of them might be close to it..." he mumbled, looking up when the male gestured his way. Silently, he followed after, giving one last glance to the fiends behind me. He'd give a brief nod to the officers, ignoring the strange looks he was given. He looked back as they arrived at the car, and smiled wide. "Pontica Transam. Very nice." he smiled and looked over the car in curiosity. He noticed that it indeed in fact did not have a license plate. He arched a curious brow. "How come there's no license plate?" He climbed in the car, buckling his seat belt and such.
Travis Skeltz would pull the car out of the parking lot and onto the street. He gave a side glance to Dominic. "Well there are two reasons. One, vigilantism is illegal so if the police ever catch sight of me in my get away car all they have to do is trace the lisence plate to find me. The second is that criminals can do the exact same thing. Believe me if I was able to get a fake license plate I would but I have'nt found a place that makes them. I may as well have to just forge one myself. So tell me where do we go from here Dominic?" He asked as he continued on down the street. "Thanks for complimenting my car by the way. Again it is'nt much to look at so its good to have someone say something nice about it."
:nodded, realizing how much sense it made. "Makes sense," he shrugged, recognizing the street they were on. Thankfully, it was a small town, so they were basically very close. "Just take this turn and the last car on the right is mine. Knowing Alex, he's still up." he said matter of factly, a small smile on his face. "And no problem, I like cars. They're something I tinker with from time to time. Hey, if your car needs any tuning or anything, you let me know, alright?"
Travis Skeltz would smile from beneath his mask. Although it was not visible it was there. "Thank you I appreciate the offer. I mean you have offered me so much thus far. I guess I really owe you, especially since you pulled me out of that fight back there." he would make the turn as indicated and continue until he got to the last car on the right. Once there he would pull over and switch the car off before exiting. He decided to get the door for Dominic since it was the least he could do for the anthro canine cyborg. "So this is the place huh?"
:nodded, a small smile on his face. "Nono, you don't have me to owe me anything. I'm happy to help." He kindly thanked the male for opening the car door for him, climbing out. "Yup," he said with a slight sigh, making his way towards the front door. "It isn't much," he said as he turned the knob, and openning. "But it's home." The room was lined with the regular sorta things. Couches, tables, all that. He stood aside to let the other in, closing the door. "Now, where's Alexander..." he mumbled, shuffling more into house. If the other had notice, he had noticed something crawling on the ceiling above Dominic's head, the single thing appearing is it's red eye, a sinister look.
Travis Skeltz would glance around at the inside of the house. "Well its bigger than the apartment I live in at least." He would then notice something crawling on the ceiling. The only thing he could make out was a single red eye. "Uh...is that the pet you were talking about?" He would point up at the creature above Dominic. He was expecting a gator, tiger, or wild boar to be running about inside. But instead he was met with the sight of a mysterious creature that was cloaked in the darkness with only a red eye visible. And it looked kind of sinister at that.
:nodded, smiling. "It really isn't much, but it's all we got." He was taken aback when the male addressed to his pet, eyes jutting up to the ceiling. A slight annoyed sigh escaped his lips, and with a quick flick of his finger, the mysterious creature leaped down. Before the two was a small, about the size of a brick, robotic spider. It was mostly white, black cords strung around its legs, all six of them just the same. A single antenna was placed next to its red eye, and almost childish look appeared on the robot's service when it leaped down atop its owner's head. A series of excited chirping escaped the little creature, obviously happy to see him. Dominic sighed, nodding. "Calm down, will ya? We have a guest." At this, the bot looked back up. A curious look in his single eye. "This is Radio," he started with a nod. "And Radio this is... I don't know his real name, but he goes by Knock Down," he gave a brief nod, Radio still look skeptical at the new goer.
Travis Skeltz suddenly looked astounded. "Woah, a real genuine robotic spider. That is undoubtedly one of the coolest things Ive ever seen. Did you make him yourself?" He was amazed by this example of robotic technology that was only surprased by Dominic himself, him being a real cyborg and all. It even seemed to exhibit sounds of joy. Could it be that it really felt emotion or was at least programed to. He continued to look at the robot with curiosity and a child like astonishment. "Do you have others just like Radio here?"
Radio buzzed happily at the compliment, and instantly, leaped at the other, crawling atop his head like a child. Dominic winced slightly, not very much fond of his spider's lack of manners. "Sorry, he's energetic," at his question, a slight frown tugged at his lips, but he went on keeping his smile. "I sorta built him. At the place I was... Altered at, I found him, mostly broken, and fixed himself once I escaped the place." At his next question, he shook his head, a slight nervous smile on his face. "Nah, but we do have something else... My brother's pet, she's... Something alright. He got her from the same place he was kept at."
