Wheatley. The mass of cheering had ended abruptly upstairs, coalescing into a fit of New Year's kisses and hushed wishes for the age ahead of them. And where was Wheatley? Alone and forgotten. Again. Quickly, had he downed his glass of champagne, the sparkling liquid sitting warm in his throat before his emancipation grille had detonated the liquor and sent messages in his brain to send his feet stumbling and his better judgement clouding over. (Not to say it wasn't bad enough before.) GLaDOS was nowhere to be found, and there was now a tipsy robot in the lobby, his blue eyes staring boredly against the glass of the vending machines. Hadn't he asked the management to include jaffa cakes and jelly babies along the usual food fare? (Okay, correction, he'd complained to Turqy, who'd swiftly proclaimed she'd tell them. But, perhaps, it'd been merely to humor the Brit.) It didn't stop him from lifting his lips in a scowl however, the white-noise of the torrential downpour of rain outside lost on his auditory receptors. "Bloody 'ell, can't even list'n to a simple request, damn chavs..."
Bampires. rain. Rain was probably the worst thing in the world that the sky could bring down for everyone. Bampires' eyes stared at the sky as rain pounded down against her clothing, Well, sucks being homeless. Arms wrapped around herself, she looked towards the door of the apartment buildings. They werent locked, wide open for anyone who was willing to go inside. Soaking wet from the downpour, she had no real choice, she shook off her clothing the best she could before pressing the door to open it, and to be welcomed by the scent of the apartment lobby, it was refreshing. She then stepped inside, and nearly slipped on the tile, before regaining her balance. It was empty, of course. The only thing inside was a human. Weird, she'd never met a human before.. But they werent mysterious creatures either. She huffed a small sigh before letting the door clip shut behind her, before she grabbed a seat next to the door, and flopped onto the tile with a dull thud, leaning against the wall. She'd find something to dry it all up with later, when the rain stopped. Bampires then looked over to the man and studied him before anything were to happen. Blonde hair, jumpsuit that was slightly tampered with, and wore glasses. Glasses.. were attractive, to bampires, for some reason. they just were. Her nose twitched to the scent of alchohol. Oh joyus, he was drunk? Or drinking. Either way, that could have been bad. Liqour or alchohol in general scared Bamps, Just reminded her too much of charles. She just hoped silently to herself that he wasnt mean-- or none the less, going to talk to her.
Wheatley huffed, upset with the selection before him. Well, at least they got the drink selection right. Shuffling over, he fumbled with a worn dollar bill in-between his singed fingers, before exchanging it and making a selection for a drink he desired. Leaning down, the mobile unit retrieved a bottle of Mountain Dew, grinning with that stupid smile of his before he popped the cap and downed some of the much-loved liquid. Good. It washed the taste of liquor out of his mouth, and made his head loosen a bit. The variation in Britain could never compare, as American Mountain Dew had always had a different (Read; more unhealthy) ingredient in it that was more suited to his tastes. Smiling at his choice, head whipped around the lobby when he heard the footsteps of another. Scratch that. Pawsteps. Shoulders hunched, glasses askew on his nose and eyes wide. Even after all this time, he still wasn't used to anthros, huh? It wasn't that he particularly hated them as a species. No no, he practically lived with them, between Turquoise, Margish, and Vinyl. But, it was still sort of a shock to stumble out on the street after being cooped up in Aperture since 1960 and seeing, well, this. That, and she was freaking blue. A blue, white, and black, probably talking, bipedal dog in front of him. Yowch. Tentatively, he stepped forwards, compassion perhaps winning over a small part of him. Poor thing was drenched. Stifling a simulated hiccup, he raised a hand in a half-wave, the light catching the burn-marks on his fingers where GLaDOS' wiring had lashed against the sensitive skin so long ago. "'Ello, luv. Are y' alright?"
Bampires allowed her head to droop as she got her eyefull, studying her clothing to see how much damage was done to it. Her tuxedo was shot practically, she wasnt wearing the one radryl gave to her, only because she didnt feel like it. But this one was old, and the rain was probably going to make it start falling apart. She huffed a quiet sigh, and rolled up her sleeve, causing water to drain out of the sleeve, and onto her lap, causing her to shiver some.First rule of life: Don't live where it rains and snows. Surprisingly enough, it hadnt snowed yet .. and it was new years! Maybe she'd hit the jackpot, and this place wasnt going to leave her abandoned in the snow again next winter. Her arms wrapped around her, a similiar formation known as 'fetal position' and she pulled her legs closer to herself, ready to close her eyes, a soft yawn escaping her muzzle as she almost nodded off to sleep when A brittish voice tickled her eardrums, and made her head snap up, His words werent slurred.. Her icy blue eyes trailed over to stare him straight in the eyes,as water dripped from her ears and hair, She just blinked cluelessly, almost shocked by his accent-- She'd never heard one like this before! 'I hope they all sound like this, gosh' She thought to herself, ears perked and eyes estatic. Eventually she realized he was speaking to her, and she grimanced slightly. "Oh.. yes.. I'm fine." She responded lightly,"Just wet." She inquired, shaking one of her paws to get some of the water off. She probably looked like a wreck to him.
Wheatley giggled girlishly at her answer, though it was swiftly interrupted with another hiccup. "'Scuse me," He intoned, voice confined strictly to his throat as a hand thumped against his chest. "Damn 'umans insist on givin' me a pint. Can't 'andle 'em." The robot informed, chuckling. Despite the fact that it'd only been but a cup of champagne, Wheatley was little more than a lightweight. And besides, the disappearance of a certain power-hungry woman in his life had left him worse for wear, wishing for nothing more but to curl up in sleep mode and replay their days together for as long as his black-box quick-save feature would allow him. "Doesn't look like it, c'mere," The male offered, extending his free hand. Though, the klutzy custodian teetered forwards on his feet precariously, close to falling over in his tipsy stupor.
Bampires watched as he was unable to even stay on his two feet. She giggled alongside with him at his hiccup "It's alright." She said softly, blinking as he offered his hand to her. She slowly went to take his hand, but ended up helping herself up anyway. "Are you alright yourself?" She asked with a small giggle at his actions, putting her hand on her mouth as she watched him. He sure was.. interesting. At closer inspection, His eyes were a bit hazed (Tired is another way to put it), and he had little bags under his eyes. He reaked of the Champainge he had drank earlier, even if it was a little glass, the Border collie's nose was quite a bit more sensitive, and it was awful. She simply put her paw up to her mouth and watched him, trying to hide her amused smile at his actions. "You seem a bit..." How could she say it without offending him..? She thought for a moment "Unsteady." She said with a small joking laugh.
Wheatley stared at his hand, as if he'd done something wrong, before it joined his hip. Head tilted precariously when she described him, thoroughly confused. Unsteady? "Mm'been told that, luv. Ain't nothin' to be ashamed of, if I'm honest." He whittled on dryly. More than once had his clumsiness been the butt of many jokes, his one downfall and curse along with his stupidity and marvelous misfortune in the field of love. "Just means 'm ready n' on my feet more than other folks, I guess." Another hiccup. Another confined 'sorry'.
Bampires giggled lightly, before resting her paws just below her chest, crossing them together and resting them a bit. He was hilarious, it seemed. "I see." She said lightly, trying to think of something to say, her fur bristling as a clash of thunder seemingly startled her, and she shook it off quickly. "Oh, my names Bampires, by the way." She said lightly, whilist smiling "Whats yours?" She asked curiously, and gave a light tilt of her head, Her nose started to twitch, before she struggled to keep back a sneeze, Though, failed misribly, She put her forearm quickly before her mouth to try and cover it, as she sneezed, it was small.. and squeaky, even. She never really.. 'sneezed'. "Uhps, sorry." She said lightly, sniffling a few times before putting her arm down again.
Wheatley nodded at her exchange. Bampires. An odd name, but it was nothing to sneeze at when he was named after a freaking grain. "Wheatley S. Merchant." The male informed, still frankly having no idea what the 'S' stood for. He'd found it on his name-tag, and that was all he cared about. Eyebrows raised at once, face shifting to one of concern when the female let out a weak sneeze. "Y' sound ill, one mo'-" In a quick action, he slipped off his overshirt, offering it to the female. "Gonna catch a cold- you guys do get 'em, right? GLaDOS said we don't-" Wheatley shut his trap in an instant, wary of getting his cover blown. Austin had said not to tell anyone that he was a robot- but things still slipped out of that big mouth of his, didn't they?
Bampires nodded "Nice to meet you, wheatly-" She paused after the name rolled off her tongue.. No, no! A bit in disbelief, "Oh.. probably.. it's cold out there." She heaved a quiet sigh, Trying to forget the similarity. She slowly took the Overcoat "Thank y-" She said, pausing and dropping the overcoat almost admidetly as he mentioned 'GLaDOS.' "...." She pause, frozen, and her arms fell to her sides for a moment. GLaDOS .. wasnt that from that one video game she liked? "I..i'm sorry?" She said lightly, eyes widening a bit "But did.. you say.. 'GLaDOS?'" she stammered, eyes wide with disbeleif and shock. Her mouth probably would have been hanging open if she hadn't forced it shut after speaking.
Wheatley felt himself freeze up, circuits might as well had been coated in a fine layer of ice before he found himself stumbling back. But this time, it wasn't from the haze in his head. Instead, something more primal manifested in his processors. Fear. "I-" The male gulped roughly, hands meeting his head and his drink long forgotten. He messed up- No one else was supposed to know. And now that GLaDOS had left him alone again- "No." A drunk and a liar. He sure knew how to charm them.
Bampires quirked a brow, She was /sure/ she heard it. She just slowly nodded to him "Right.." She said lightly, before slowly knealing down and grabbing the coat to dust it off then put it on "Thank you," She said, before realizing her clothes were still wet. What was this going to help? she needed a shower, and freash
clothes- Two things she couldnt get. She huffed a quiet sigh, then once again inspected wheatly. He sure was odd. But friendly none-the-less, thats all she cared about right now. Maybe GLaDOS was just someone he liked as a character, like she did. But she more liked Rick. Rick was freaking bad ass. At the thought of 'rick', a smile came to her face, and she started to laugh lightly at the thought of the adventure core.
:had not calmed down, breathing still heavy as he swallowed down the simulated spit that had accumulated in his mouth.
